Bonjour,
Bravo to the winning team for their detailed and elaborately decorated gingerbread house "L'atelier du Père Noël" and to the runners' up for their creative and colourful train "Train d'oursons en peluche". Also, congratulations to teams "Lutins" and "Sapins de Noël" for demonstrating superior team work, organization, and productivity!
Demain:
Don't forget clothes for PE which is after lunch.
Binders needed as we will be reading "Le premier guerrier" and working on our writing/reading activity which we began last week.
If you forgot your secret Santa card today please bring it tomorrow.

Bonjour,
A big thank-you to parents who drove us yesterday to the museum. It was a lot of fun and so exciting to hear from an experienced Canadian astronaut! We learned a lot and had a great time!
Today, students finished their Canadian Identity wordles online after working together in groups to consolidate individual brainstorms. They look fantastic (lots of detail, precise vocabulary, cover a number of themes) and will soon be on display in the classroom.
Snapshot of Wednesday:
Before recess: Music concert in the gym (please wear your band t-shirts and your instruments!)
After recess: Gingerbread house/train building competition in teams (remember that a large part of the evaluation is how well the team models the five practices, particularly being POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE).
After lunch: We will be visiting the Book Fair in the library. Please bring money if you wish to purchase books (there is an excellent selection of French books/novels)
Devoirs:
Bring Secret Santa cards (completed)!
A demain,
Mme Couture

Bonjour,
Well, it's a busy time of year for Advisory 42! Below is a quick update on what is going on tomorrow and early next week:
Friday December 10th:
Multicultural luncheon: remember to bring a food item (appetizer, main course or dessert) for our potluck lunch...almost everyone confirmed what they were going to bring which is greatly appreciated as it helps so much with planning!
Gift Emporium: we will have a chance to visit the Fitness Studio tomorrow where a gift emporium has been set up. There are lots of things to choose from and nothing costs more than $2.00. This is a great way for students to purchase affordable new or gently used items which can make perfect Christmas gifts.
Monday December 13th:
Imax visit: Hubble presentation and question/answer period with Canadian astronaut. I just found out that Channel A news will be present at the event to do a piece for the evening news. I will be sending home a special form tomorrow for parents to sign if they are ok with their child being captured on film by our local news crew.
**Thank-you to all parent driver volunteers**- please ensure that the office has a copy of drivers licence and insurance. I believe this has to be completed each year (for those who have driven in other years).**
Wednesday December 15th:
Gingerbread/train building contest (demonstrating the 5 practices): please try to bring 3 dollars to help pay for supplies.
Devoirs:
Maths: short quiz tomorrow on multiplying decimals.
Français: continue reading in French
Sciences Humaines: please be prepared to give an update on where groups are at with
Canadian Identity brainstorm.
A demain,
Mme Couture
