I just wanted to pass on a comment from Mr. Reid who said Advisory 42 was absolutely FABULOUS today during their exploratory... He was really impressed with the clean-up at the end of class (the best one he's seen). Way to go Advisory 42!

We have a fairly busy week with three quizzes (one in French,one in Math and one in Science). Please see below for specific info on review and quiz dates.
Reminder:
Band takes place tomorrow morning before school (8:00am in the band annex).
Please bring a toonie if you are able to for our Terry Fox Run fundraiser.
Maths: complete review if not finished during class(follows the format of the quiz). We will correct it tomorrow and continue reviewing for the quiz which will take place on Wednesday.
Français: review "IR" verb endings (present tense). We will have a quiz on Wednesday which will follow the format of the review we completed in class today.
Science: complete review if not already finished. We will continue to review new vocabulary on Wednesday and have a short quiz on Friday (Règne fongique).

Notices went home today from the band teachers...please share with your parents (and a reminder that instruments need to be brought to class for next Wednesday).
Reminder: any lunch orders need to be submitted and please bring a toonie for our Terry Fox Run fundraiser.

Science: review vocabulary and information on the Règne fongique
Maths: please complete pages 20 and 21 for Monday (make use of the examples and notes that I handed out as they will help you with the questions). I HIGHLY recommend that finishing the assignment either this evening (Friday) or Saturday as leaving it to Sunday evening might result in forgetting what to do and/or how to do it.
Français: look over IR verb endings present tense and try writing a few sentences using the verbs from the exercise we did yesterday. I will be giving out a review on Monday in preparation for the IR present tense quiz which will be on Wednesday.
IR regular verb ending reminder:

Reminders and other start-up info:
Photo Day is tomorrow. Please remember your order form if you have not already brought it to school.
We have PE tomorrow also so please remember your gym strip (change of t-shirt &shorts or gym pants as well as running shoes)
After school choir practice usually run until 4:00pm for those students who are participating. I believe Concert Choir has practices after school on Mondays.
Band on Tuesdays begins at 8:00am. Students have all received information regarding instrument rentals.
**NOTE***: Students should always bring their binders home so they can review new material (or complete any homework they might have).

Hope to see many parents and students tonight at the Meet the Teacher Community Picnic. I will be giving a brief presentation in our classroom (Room 204) at 5:30 before the festivities begin outside at 6:00pm.
Reminders:
-it's picture day on Thursday (please bring order forms and payment)
-lunch order forms (Subway, Pizza and Sushi) can be returned at earliest convenience for those who would like to take part in these fundraisers

Reminder that there is no school on Monday (Pro-D day) and that forms have gone home for Subway Day orders and Sushi Day orders. Pizza Day order forms should be available next week.

I just wanted to being by saying that I was very impressed at how well everyone in the class was modeling the five practices today (Being Present, Punctual, Positive, Prepared and Productive). Keep up the great work!
Just a reminder of items that need to be returned or brought to school:

A lock or the funds for a lock so that supplies can be moved into lockers

La Rentrée
Bonjour,
I want to welcome students and parents to my classroom blog for the 2010/2011 academic year!
Each day, I will make a post to the blog updating parents and students of Advisory 42regarding activities that are going on at school. This might include assignment due dates, upcoming field trips, explanations of what we are working on in class and other important school related information.
You will also find a number of links on this page to dictionaries and online resources (including newspaper sites and interactive learning sites).
Although communication within the classroom is entirely in French, my blog will be in English so that both francophone and non fracophone parents can access all information.
I look forward to an exciting and learning filled year!
