Reminder: Halloween costume contest tomorrow at lunch OR wear black and orange (there is a prize for the advisory with the most students either in costume or in black and orange).

Français: continue working on the cahier de lecture...and review AVOIR, ETRE, and FAIRE (present tense). Do you know the french expressions that use AVOIR (how many can you remember by heart?) (e.g. avoir soif...avoir faim...etc)
Sciences Humaines: please try to finish the rough draft of your paragraph before the weekend so that you can focus on the cahier de lecture as it is due on Monday.

You should have at least 4 activities completed at this point and be working on your 5th activity. If that is not the case, try to catch up for Friday so you are not overwhelmed on the weekend. Suggestion: You can record new words as you are reading (onto the vocab sheet) and then look them up afterwards...that is a great way to complete one activity.

Sciences Humaines: Paragraph planning on children's rights is due Wednesday (not the paragraph itself but what you want to say in the paragraph). Remember when planning each detail/example in the paragraph to think of whether or not you are answering the 5 W's (Who, What, When, Where, Why). For example....who specifically are you talking about (e.g. Children with a physical handicap)....what is the issue in terms of children's rights (e.g. the child with the physical handicap cannot access certain rooms within a school because there is no elevator or there is too great a distance to walk) etc. Feel free to look online for statistics that can back up some of the points you are making (e.g. Google groups of key words like homelessness Canada children)

Sciences: Continue to review for quiz on Monday. Try doing a quiz written by a classmate and then check your answers as this is a great way to check your understanding. If it's a question Niveau 3 there are many possible answers (sometimes there is more than one correct answer for similarity and difference questions as well)

Maths: complete activity on multiplying decimals by 10, 100, 1 000 etc. if not already finished
Science: review material on plant kingdom (quiz has moved to Monday to allow for extra review time...please take advantage of this by closely reviewing material (e.g. try doing a few of the review questions without looking through notes to see if you know the material...try identifying the parts of a plant cell without reading the labels etc.)

For those interested, there is a special booksigning at Munro's on Saturday at 3pm by the author Kenneth Oppel.
Also, we are beginning a Halloween for the Hungry food drive (Mustart Seed). If you are able to, please bring non perishable food items for our classe's donation box. (We will be gathering food items until the 29th of October).

Maths: complete circled questions on page 127-128 (please read each question carefully...Remember that "supérieur" means greater than or bigger than and "inférieur" means smaller than)...for extra review, you can complete the non-circled questions as well (highly recommended for those who are still not very comfortable with rounding)

Basketball season will be starting soon. There was an informational meeting today at recess. Make sure to get in touch with Mrs. Lidstone if you are interested in participating.

Science: For those who would like to take the re-test (if you received a 2 or less on the first quiz), it will take place on Wednesday.

Les cinq comportements: We will be doing a self evaluation on Monday (how you are doing so far concerning the 5 practic) so maybe take a few moments to think about how you are doing in each area (e.g. Positive in the hallway, Positive in band, Productive in P.E., Prepared in exploratory, Punctual after lunch etc.)
