Bonjour,

Reminder of the Rugby practise after school tomorrow (Thursday)

Devoirs:

Maths: Math questions (plotting line segments on cartesian plane) are due on Friday. Choose 4 or the following 5 equations:

y = 2x + 1

y= 3x-3

y= x to the power of two..the answer of which you need to divide by 2 (unfortunately I can't write it out clearly on the Blog due to formatting)

y= 2x + (-2)

y = 3x - 5

French: Oral Presentations (A few students still need to present...this will take place on Friday)

Bonjour,

Devoirs:

Français: Continue preparing for oral presentations and bring all material for lit. circles to school tomorrow (including your novels!)

Also, we will be having our Dictée PGL in-class competition next week and any donations would be welcome (a loonie or toonie can go a long way!). Try to beat your best Dictée score and prepare for the dictée by completing the cultural activities in your Dictée PGL booklet.

Maths: continue practise by graphing x and y values for the following equations:

y = 3x -4

y = x + 3

y = 2x +3

y= 3x + 2

Bonjour,

Français: Important reminder: Oral presentations will be happening tomorrow (as written on the Blog last week!) Everyone is expected to have their presentation memorized!

Also, continue working on lit. circles (due Wednesday)

Maths: complete activity involving finding values for y and graphing co-ordinates using the following equations:

y = 2x + 1 ( **this means 2 multiplied by whatever the value of x is and then adding 1)

find y values when x is -2, -1, 0, 1, 2 and show all work

y = x-3 (** this means you take whatever x's value is and you subtract 3)

find y values when x is -2, -1, 0, 1, 2 and show all work

y= 2x -2 (**this means you take whatever x's value is and multiply it by 2 then subtract 2)

find y values when x is -2, -1, 0, 1, 2 and show all work

y= x2 OR x to the power of 2 (** this means you take the value of x and multiply it by itself)

find y values when X= 0, 1, 2, 3 and show all work

C'est tout,

Mme Couture

Bonjour,

Reminder that there is no school tomorrow as it is a Pro-D day.

Devoirs:

Français: Lit Circles are next Wednesday. Please bring your novel and completed activity to class with you. Also, we will be having oral presentations (you will need to memorize your written work) on Tuesday. Please be prepared to present to the class.

I'm missing a few science labs...please get those in on Monday!

Also, many students need to continue to review the passé composé on a regular basis...take some time every day to work on verbs (writing them in sentences is the best way to learn how to use them properly).

Bonjour,

What a lovely day to visit the Ocean Discovery Centre! I hope everyone learned a lot about our ocean and all the amazing species we are lucky enough to find in our waters (I know I did!)

Devoirs:

Français: Study for Passé Composé quiz tomorrow (everyone should know which verbs use être in the past tense and which verbs use avoir...students should also be comfortable with verb endings e.g J'ai compris (for the verb comprendre) or Tu es descendu (for the verb descendre)

Also, bring your novel and lit. circle activity as we will have our lit. circle tomorrow (don't forget a snack if you are the person bringing the goûter)

Science: lab report is due. Please look at your goal setting and the lab rubric you have before you say "I'm finished".

Questions to ask yourself :

Did I complete a detailed list of possible variables? Is my analysis detailed with precise vocabulary? Did I respond to all the analysis questions and explain "why" or "how" I reached each conclusion ? Did I provide some examples in my analysis to support my conclusions/responses? Are my drawn observations detailed, accurate and labelled? Have I talked about the hypotheses in the conclusion (were we correct or not?)

E.g. Je suis arrivé(e) or Tu es descendu(e)

**Concours d'art oratoire will be on Monday during Advisory for the 8 students competing for the three Grade 6 spots. Other students will be presenting no earlier than Thursday the 18th.
