Just a reminder to bring your signed permission form, $2.50 and a towel/swimsuit for tomorrow morning's field trip to Oak Bay Rec. Centre (from 9-12:00).
***To those missing library books, please bring the books or $$ to replace them. A form went home today to all students who are still missing a book and or/books with a total amount owing and the book titles.***

Bonjour,
Thank-you so much to everyone who brought something in today for our DELICIOUS and AMAZING international luncheon. It was INCREDIBLE! I was so impressed with the dishes that everyone brought. Merci!!
Devoirs:
I will be making our classroom booklet on Monday and if you have any small drawings that you want to add to put on the cover page, feel free to bring them on Monday.
Also, I will be handing out a permission form for Tuesday morning swimming at Oak Bay Rec. Centre.
Have a great weekend and remember to bring an extra bag if necessary (on Monday) to take home any of your extra school supplies.

Bonjour,
I just wanted to say that I very much appreciated seeing such respectful and appropriate behaviour on our field trip today from nearly every student. You represented Lansdowne very well and hopefully had an enjoyable day! Thank-you in particular to our parent drivers/chaperone's! We couldn't have gone on this great day trip without you!

I just wanted to say first of all how impressed I am with all the work you've done on your science projects. I can tell from the models you've created that you spent a lot of time and energy creating them (from the idea of the model to the final product). The posters are informative and detailed. Bravo!

It's so exciting to see all the detailed, creative and accurate models that students have made which illustrate extreme environments! I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's display/presentation time.
Reminders:
Please return all library books as soon as possible!
Please submit your permission forms for next Wednesday's field trip.
If you have not already done so, please hand in your CAHIER DE LECTURE!!!
Bring all materials for Science tomorrow as we will be doing presentations/gallery walk poster viewing.
Devoirs:
Maths: Please bring your survey (Write a fairly general question such as "What is your favourite ice cream flavour" and provide 3-5 choices of possible respones (e.g. vanilla, chocolate, maple walnut, chocolate chip mint, strawberry) We will collect data tomorrow for your surveys.

Maths: complete leçon 4---both sides of the page (interpretation of graphs). You will need graph paper as several questions involve drawing graphs that represent the given data.

This Friday is our Pizza/Popcorn Party (reward for our class winning the Eco Challenge---bringing the most re-usable water bottles rather than plastic ones). If you want to partake in the pizza lunch (as popcorn is being provided) please bring $4.00 no later than Thursday!

Congratulations to everyone on a great concert last night! It's amazing to see how far you have come in just a few short months. Bravo!
Devoirs:
It's crunch time....please continue working on your Sciences Humaines and Sciences as both assignments are due soon (Sciences Humaines is due Monday and Sciences is due on the 14th). Please refer to the assignment criteria (yellow handout that lists all criteria for Socials).
Tomorrow is Curriculum Completion Day. Even if you are not required to stay, it is an EXCELLENT opportunity to work on your projects at home so that you can be finished for the due dates (Sciences Humaines is due on Monday!!!!!)

June 3 in class - finish narration
June 10 and 17 - Showing dig storytelling to class/assessment
June 3rd (today) is the last opportunity for working on the dig. story in class. Students who do not finish the narration and all other details will need to access the technology lab through Homework Club between now and June 10 in order to finish, and should make arrangements to do so (letting parents know, etc.)
Literature Response Assignment:
June 8 - working independently in class on lit. assignment. Should be finished reading novel by this point.
June 15 - literature assignment due. All components must be handed in this class.
Components of Assignment that need to be completed:
Cause and Effect Timeline: (make sure your name and the title of the book are on it) . You have been keeping up with this as you read the book.
Reading for Meaning Worksheet: hand in worksheet **hyperbole,foreshadowing and imagers are optional.
Characteristics of Protagonist: 3 character traits with one example (quote from book that supports characteristic). Note that the original assignment asked for 2 examples and I've reduced it to 1. Set -up as modeled in class.

**If you are unsure of expectations, refer back to your assignment sheet. Note that as discussed in class you are no longer required to Box the Plot, provide examples of hyperbole, foreshadowing or imagery, or complete your connections graphic organizers. If you do choose to do these anyways, I will view it as striving to exceed expectations!

Maths: Complete transformations review (Quiz on Thurday) and make sure to bring your temperature graph for May so we can do all calculations during class tomorrow.
